“Please don’t send us any unsolicited material, whether it consists of scripts, tapes, or ideas or formats for programmes, or anything else.

We won’t look at it.

We will put it in the bin.

Why? Two main reasons: firstly, because we simply don’t have the resources to look at unsolicited material.  

Secondly, because we’re always working hard at developing our own ideas, and it’s always possible that someone may send in unsolicited material which contains ideas we’ve already come up with. There’d then be a risk that the sender thinks that he/she owns our ideas. We don’t want this sort of confusion to arise: it’s therefore really important for us to know that all our material originates from us.”
